ubuntu noobish question?

I'm quite new to the Linux operating system, I installed Ubuntu Netbook Remix Edition and so far have loved it. I have found problems such as as the microphone questions about Skype and my GPS connection to the computer …. What I want to know how to make a stable connection to my 1 terabyte hardrive that my Belkin Wireless Router get connected. I can manually access and my computer recognizes it but the drive disappear after a while. But I need it to be stable, so I can access my music on it, for there is no space on my computer hardrive.
