Black Rubber
2005

Can I sand anything off the top of a hard-wood floor, including glue and some rubber-like black substance?
The glue was used to hold tiles down and the black rubber-like substance can be scraped off with just my fingernail but it’s all over the floor. Will these gum up the sandpaper?
If you are thinking you are going to sand that floor yourself with good results , Think again, I know that is not what you want to hear but if you are serious call several wood flooring refinishers and get some bids ask them how they are going to get it done and you can try to replicate the process . They use what is called a drum sander which can be rented at your local rental store, but do your research I have seen amateurs use them with disastrous results gouging of the wood etc. If this glue and tile backing residue is not that thick or bad you can try it your self with a belt sander going with the grain Good Luck from Texas And if you decide to hire the contractor you don’t have take the highest bid but NEVER take the lowest One more thing my local library had a book on refinishing floors that came with a video

Popeye the Sailor: 1933-1938, Vol. 1 $8.83 In 1933, a squint-eyed sailor with outsized forearms danced a hula with Betty Boop–and began one of the great series in American cartoon history. Popeye had made his debut in Elzie Segar’s comic strip “Thimble Theater” four years earlier, and the jump to animation only increased his popularity: by 1938, he rivaled Mickey Mouse. During the ’30s, when Disney was creating lushly colored, realistic … |
