Can clear acrylic sealer gloss be used to prevent a clay model from cracking?

Clay will crack if it dries unevenly, too fast, inconsistent thickness, uneven moisture content (poor mixture)
If it is an air dry clay like DAS, let it dry then seal it.
Oven baked clay like Sculpey, roast it then seal it.
Ceramic clay must be fired or it will be very brittle, then glazed or sealed.
Acrylic Gloss Medium and Varnish or Matt Medium will coat the ceramic for effect and might help prevent chipping, but will not prevent cracking and actually might contribute to cracking of an unfinished (dried, roasted, fired) piece by re-wetting and preventing even drying.
