How do I get text files onto my 4th Gen Classic iPod?

I want to put text files on it. I know it’s possible, but how?

First you have to enable it for use as a storage drive. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1478

Then you need to save your text as .txt files. There is a length limit (about 4000 characters). You can use this free website to break up your long files http://ebookhood.com/ipod-ebook-creator or just estimate (if the .txt file is less than 4KB in size, it’s good to go).

Next connect your iPod to your computer and open it through My Computer (it will show up as a drive). Drag the files into the Notes folder.
