Why iPod is my only free on the computer?

I have a silver 4GB iPod nano video and I had no problems with it loading up recently. Before it free would be if I put it in my speaker dock and when I put it in the wall with a charger, but now it is only charged when I plug it into the computer. I have tried different outlets all around my house, and my iPod not free in any. Who knows why this is or how to fix it?
