what does a wireless card do?

my laptop always kicks me off after 5 minutes of wireles internet. will a card help? specifically a “BELKIN WIRELESS G NOTEBOOK CARD F5D7010 – NIB”?

If your lap top has a built in wireless card chip set then installing a external USB or card type wireless adapter will not help. It sounds more like a weak router signal problem. Move close to router and check the signal strength (excellent) the move away until it shows low signal this is the maximum distance you can be from the router and with low signal it may disconnect at any time. To correct relocate router, install router signal booster, buy better router.
