My son is 14 mo old, is it true that Sippy cups with soft/silicone mouth piece are bad for his teeth?

I use the Nubby brand Sippy cup, various different styles of them. What is the recommended type of mouth piece?
He only drinks real juice and drinks and drops his cup as soon as he is done. Which is within a few minutes. I have never given him milk, juice or water when he is in his crib. He has been off the bottle since he was 8mo old. I hope to take him off the sippy cup as soon as he stops dropping his cup, which I hope is soon. At least while we are at home.
